We are delighted to offer details of The 10 busiest shopping days of Christmas. In 2022 Saturday the 17th of December and Thursday the 22nd of December are predicted to be the first and second busiest shopping days respectively in this year’s holiday festivities based on trends dictated by the last few years. Unsurprisingly the remaining two pre-Christmas Saturdays following.

These predictions mirror foot traffic patterns across retail stores for the last few years and highlight an appetite amongst shoppers for post-Christmas bargains. That ecommerce sales are growing exponentially will merely add to these stats.

Whilst traditional spikes in footfall are predicted to take place on Super Saturday and on 23rd December (the day before Christmas Eve) in the UK, High Street footfall will shift earlier in December, as shoppers make a bid to get ahead with gift buying.

With many retailers already warning of Christmas stock shortages due to the ongoing supply chain disruption of the last few years, consumers are expected to shop earlier than usual to avoid out-of-stock and shelf gaps. Original research of over 1,000 UK shoppers showed that 79% will start Christmas shopping before the beginning of December, the traditional start of Advent – and just 9% will leave it until December to begin making festive purchases
